Got some time to explore before our 6pm meetup? Here are a couple of side quests depending on your energy levels — whether you're feeling adventurous… or just want something easy and fun.
What is it?
If you've got a full day free, I highly recommend making the trip out to Sanxingdui Museum, a mind-blowing archaeological site just outside Chengdu, home to some of the strangest ancient artefacts ever discovered in China.
✨ Why go
- These artefacts date back around 4,000 years… but they don't match anything else discovered in China from the same time period.
- Massive bronze masks, delicate gold pieces, all pulled from the ground in incredible condition.
- And the best part? No one fully understands it. Some people say it's the work of aliens.
🚕 Getting there
- DiDi: ~40–60 minutes from central Chengdu
- Cost: ~¥80–120 each way depending on traffic
- Address to type into DiDi / show the driver: 三星堆博物馆
